There’s nothing quite like the aroma of a nicely spiced loaf of quick bread filling up the kitchen on a crisp fall day. I honestly think quick bread recipes are little kitchen treasures, and as homemade treats, I truly love how easily they fit right into everyday life.
There’s no yeast to fuss with, no dough to knead, no waiting around for anything to rise. Just mix, fold, pour and bake! Before you know it, you’ve got an warm, delicious loaf filling the kitchen with the comforting aroma of cinnamon, apples, vanilla, or whatever cozy flavors you’re craving that day.

This homemade Spiced Pear Vanilla Quick Bread is moist, soft, filled with bits of sweet, earthy pear, warm spices and the loveliest hint of vanilla. It’s one of my favorite ingredient combinations at the moment, and definitely for any other time too.
It’s the kind of sweetly spiced, flavorful quick bread that makes you want to put the kettle on, grab a cozy blanket, and settle in for a good while.

Truth be told, we’re still having 100Β°+ days here at the moment (bleh!)β but when the time is right and that first cool autumn breeze gets way down here in a few weeks, you can bet I’ll be the first one snuggled up on the sofa with a blanket…right after I’ve opened up all the windows to let the chilly breeze in!
And, I’ll love every second of it. π

I highly recommend serving this simple pear quick bread warm with a little butter alongside your morning cup of coffee or tea, enjoying a slice for an afternoon pick-me-up, or sharing a loaf with someone you love!
Happy baking, my friends and stay cool! xo – M

This tasty bread with pear and spices sounds wonderful with my afternoon chai! I would love a couple of servings.
A wonderful autumnal recipe, Marcelle! I love pears in just about everything, and this sounds perfect.
Pears are so underused in baking, in my opinion. I love baking with them, and this spiced bread sounds so good!
This is definitely a “double it and freeze a loaf for later” recipe! Pears are so underrated and I love the crunch and sparkle of a sugared top.
I love those chunks of pear in the bread. What a lovely loaf.
Thank you, Karen! π€
I make a similar bread to use up the pears I can over winter. So I know yours will be delicious!
Thank you, Inger! π§‘
I’ve been making ALL the quick breads in the last few weeks. This one sounds really good and I love fresh, juicy pears!
Pears are such a treat for baking, I may secretly like them better than apples lol Thank you, Heather! π

Good morning, Sherry! Thank you so much!! π
What a gorgeous quick bread loaf. And I really love that you just used sanding sugar instead of icing. I prefer a less sweet version…and this one looks delicious!
Thank you so much, Colleen! π
I think pears are so underrated and overshadowed by apples. I miss my pear trees so much.
Pears have always been one of my favorite fruits too, they’re earthy, sweet and delicious! Thanks, Wendy!
