Well, this summer has had no shortage of ups and downs as I’ve got both kids home with me full-time. I’m loving it, of course, but their five year age difference can make activity planning a challenge at times (perhaps that’s the understatement of the season!).
One activity we’ve done together recently, that was fun for both kids, is to make SLIME. Making slime with glue is (apparently) all the rage right now and all the kids are doing it!
So, we went to the store and grabbed the necessary supplies: clear washable glue, multi-purpose contact solution, baking soda and two colors of glitter.
Yes, my kids have been heavily influenced by my penchant for pizzazz and they just had to have glitter slime!
Once all the ingredients are together in the bowl, just keep stirring until it starts to stiffen up and solidify a bit. The kids had fun with this part!
Once it comes together, they can reach in and grab it. Then they’ll need to knead it for a bit and it takes on the full slimy effect!
We chose to do this as an outdoor activity so my brick patio floor looked a bit like disco when we were done. Oh well, we like our backyard to be a little glamorous anyway!
It was a fun way for us to ward off a couple of hours of the dreaded summer boredom! I bought some inexpensive, small plastic storage bowls for them to store their slime in when they were all done.

I know kids are really enjoying the slime rage-I know I would love it, if I was a kid. My niece is staying with me this week, and she is 7. Trying to find activities that are fun took effort on my part and I took to Pinterest. I came across Fairy lights and thought that was a cool activity too.
Hope you are enjoying your summer.
Velva

Okay, this has to be the most fun post I have seen in ages. Although my life never calls for slime, glittery or otherwise, I am happy to know where to go SHOULD I need slime!
