This creamy Tropical Green Smoothie with Oats is a refreshing, nutrient-dense beverage that blends vibrantly green baby spinach with island fruits for a sweet yet satisfying treat.
Although I do make a lot of smoothies for a quick breakfast, often breakfast on the go, I will also whip one of these up anytime of the day if the mood strikes!

In fact, one of my favorite times of the day to enjoy a smoothie is often in the late afternoon, around 2 or 3 o’clock. Sometimes I just make a cup of coffee, but if I have a few minutes to spare, a little something with a bit more energy-sustaining nutrition is just what I need.
It doesn’t have to be a complicated smoothie, and I often simply use what I have on hand. I’ve always got some sort of frozen fruit in the freezer.

Okay, sometimes I don’t choose; I’ll make a smoothie and a cup of coffee too.
I’m discovering that busy days in mid-life can sometimes require a double whammy in the motivation department, and for me, a fresh cup of coffee and a fruity smoothie make a great motivational team that travels well. Thankfully, my SUV has many cup holders!
I published the recipe for this scrumptious Perk-Me-Up Mocha Latte Protein Smoothie not too long ago, and it’s still one of my favorite smoothie recipes to date, especially as an afternoon pick-me-up. A cup of coffee is blended right into the smoothie!
That’s the best of both worlds if you ask me.

To make a single tropical green protein smoothie with oats, I blend frozen pineapple chunks, one sliced banana, sweet green grapes, baby spinach with vanilla protein powder, honey, milk, chia seeds, ground flax, and oats. This scrumptiously sweet green smoothie whips up to be extra thick and creamy (thanks to the addition of oats!) with a great pop of protein to help get me through until dinner.
It may be interesting for you all to know that I wrote and saved the recipe for this creamy Tropical Green Smoothie with Oats 10 years ago (apparently!). I know it was interesting for me to rediscover it when I was browsing through all of my 375 unpublished blog post drafts this past weekend.π I had given the blog post its title and listed the smoothie ingredients, and that was it. But, I knew what to do.
It was funny to connect with a simple recipe idea I created a decade ago and that I would have written nearly the exact same way today. Now I’ve finished the work with pictures, and I hope you enjoy this yummy, healthful, satisfying smoothie too!
